Tompkins Landowner Coalition

Joining the Tompkins Landowner Coalition does not cost anything and you are under no obligation to sign any gas lease the group develops. 

We are mindful that the vast majority of landowners in our County own their property because it is their home, although some derive income from it.  Discovery of a complex hydrocarbon resource beneath our lands is of global commercial interest.  We seek to find the balance between the economic potential of this discovery and our other reasons for being here.

We dedicate ourselves to a sincere educational and investigative effort, believing that anyone attempting to make a decision by themselves about whether to lease is seriously disadvantaged.  The opportunities which an informed partnering with a responsible, respectful natural gas developer will bring are obvious.  A well crafted landowner-friendly lease to be used in defining the rights and obligations of the landowners and such a developer is our goal.


The benefits of joining the Tompkins Landowner Coalition include:

• Networking with other landowners in the area.

• Being kept up-to-date on upcoming events and educational seminars.

• Developing a well crafted landowner-friendly lease.

We want to encourage and support everyone who wishes to participate while being fair to landowners who may chose to lease their mineral rights.

We ask that all members of the Tompkins Landowner Coalition and interested parties help to spread the word about our coalition to all landowners in Tompkins County, New York!
